From pancakes to purpose, Brooklyn based celebrity Chef Sakari Smithwick is celebrating his 31st birthday (Oct. 26) with his personal mission to feed both stomachs and  minds. Starting on October 1st, Chef Sakari will embark on a 31-day tour through food deserts across New York while visiting neighboring high schools and college campuses. Cooking up pancakes, wings, and more to raise $100,000 in support of his upcoming debut title "SAVOR YOUR JOURNEY:  Three simple steps to find your Secret Sauce in Life," and the mission to open a culinary and cultural center in New York.  In partnership with FOOD WITH FAM, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide nourishment and sustenance through food distribution in disadvantaged neighborhoods, Sakari and FOOD WITH FAM will be hosting food educational programs throughout the city.  In addition to school stops, Chef Sakari will also host interactive culinary experiences on both Tik Tok and Instagram, remixing classic school lunch favorites for 31 days straight – while educating students about produce, healthy meals and nutrition.
